Head of Legal

Role Purpose

The Head of Legal serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for safeguarding the Group’s strategic interests through disciplined legal governance, proactive risk management, and uncompromising regulatory compliance in a highly sensitive and regulated operating environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design and execute the Group-wide legal and compliance architecture aligned with long-term strategic objectives.
  • Act as the primary legal authority for all defence, aerospace, and military technology activities of the Group.
  • Ensure full adherence to export control regimes, sanctions frameworks, licensing requirements, and secrecy obligations.
  • Lead legal support for strategic initiatives including M&A, joint ventures, restructurings, and technology partnerships.
  • Establish and enforce corporate governance standards, internal controls, and compliance policies across the Group.
  • Anticipate, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputational risks at enterprise level.
  • Manage complex disputes, investigations, and crisis situations with direct executive oversight.
  • Represent the Group in high-level interactions with regulators, governmental authorities, and key institutional stakeholders.
  • Build, lead, and continuously develop a high-performance in-house legal function.
  • Oversee and coordinate external legal advisors across jurisdictions.

Executive Profile

  • Advanced legal education with a strong academic foundation; postgraduate degrees are advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of progressive legal experience, including senior leadership roles within complex organizations.
  • Substantial exposure to Defence, Aerospace, Military Technology, or similarly regulated strategic industries.
  • Demonstrated capability to operate effectively in environments with heightened regulatory, political, and security constraints.
  • Proven track record in managing sensitive, high-stakes, and confidential legal matters at executive level.
